Our entrepreneurial journey in photovoltaics
Our family name is our brand, and that is precisely why it means so much to us.
I was just twenty years old when, in 2007, I co-founded the company with my father. Together, we chose to invest and launch a production line for photovoltaic panels in Italy, embracing the sector’s future prospects while staying true to the business culture passed down through our family. While the investment analysis was based on a careful industrial plan, the real drive came from a long-term vision—one that valued production expertise and an unwavering commitment to quality. My grandfather Giuseppe, who founded our family’s first business in 1961, watched over my early steps into the working world, offering me his full support. The story of my family is one of hard work, sacrifice, bold choices, and unwritten rules handed down over three generations. But it is also the strongest bond between us and the market.
Michele Torri Founder and CEO of Torri Solare
In 2008, Torri Solare officially
became a manufacturer of photovoltaic modules
Manufacturing is in our DNA.
In 2007, following a period of technical development and market analysis—with the involvement of the University of Brescia—we made the decision to invest in the production of photovoltaic panels. Our first plant assembled polycrystalline silicon photovoltaic panels with two busbars, boasting an annual production capacity of approximately 80,000 panels. In 2012, the company invested in a new product line and filed a patent for the DIAMANTE® flexible series, clearly signaling our commitment to developing solutions for specialized, technically advanced applications. In 2015, we expanded the DIAMANTE® series with the Ventilation Box, a product immediately chosen for its unique features by numerous public and private clients, including EXPO 2015. These were also the years when our extensive national sales network helped increase appreciation among technicians and professionals for our traditional product lines. 2020 brought further advancements in product evolution, particularly with the launch of the HALF CELL series, paving the way for future developments with updates in PERC and TOPCON technologies. The strengthening of partnerships and investments in research ultimately enabled the launch of our system electronics segment by the end of 2023, which includes inverters, energy storage systems, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
Entrepreneurial Tradition
Our entrepreneurial tradition dates back to 1961, when Giuseppe Torri launched his business with small metal polishing workshops in Quinzano d’Oglio, in the Po Valley. In 1977, the first die-casting press was installed, marking the beginning of our family’s journey in the world of metals. The 1990s saw Giulio Torri, Giuseppe’s son, expanding the business into the foundry sector. Then, in 2008, the third generation gave rise to Torri Solare, a manufacturer of photovoltaic panels, led by Michele Torri.
The Technology Hub
Since 2021, the company has reclaimed and redeveloped a 10,000 sqm industrial site in Brescia, originally built in the 1970s.
This site has been transformed into a technology hub, where all group activities are concentrated.
Inside this facility, we focus on the production and experimentation of new products and technologies.
- Production is 100% solar-powered.
- New technologies are tested using an external 20 kWp photovoltaic field dedicated solely to research and development.
- Our state-of-the-art laboratory is where we conduct destructive testing and performance evaluations in collaboration with research institutions.
- The entire facility is energy self-sufficient, thanks to a 400 kW photovoltaic system and a well that supplies water for the entire plant and air conditioning systems.
- Additionally, we offer a public 150 kWh Ipercharge charging station for electric mobility.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT TEAM OFFICES
Our technology hub is more than just a production facility—it is the beating heart of an industrial vision that blends technology, innovation, and product expertise.
Fabula 3D
is part of the Torri Group
Since 2023, FABULA 3D has been part of the Group, operating within a dedicated section of the Brescia technology hub.
The project was born from the desire to integrate a 3D printer farm into our research and development area.
